GENERAL INFORMATION

ON STAGE PERFORMERS

Carlsbad Community Theater frequently holds auditions for upcoming Play's and Musical's throughout the year.  CCT performs four plays and one musical each season.  Our plays are performed in September, November, February and April with the Summer Musical in July.

Auditions are held well in advance of actual performances as it generally takes several months of rehearsal's before the actual performances begin.

Cast's can vary in size from four to twelve actor's. The musical generally has the largest cast.

CCT is always searching for new talent of all ages.  Most of our productions feature adult performers, however occasionally we feature young adult's and children.

STAGE AND TECH CREW

If you are more of a "behind the scenes" type of person, then CCT could also use your help in the following area's: Usher's, Stage Manager's, Prop Manager's, Light and Sound Technicians,  Set Designers and Set Builder's as well as Maintenance and Repair help.

If you are interested in getting involved, please feel free to contact us by calling 575-887-3157 or by email to mfletcher1967@yahoo.com

WHAT IT TAKES...

TIME -
Putting on a live stage play or musical requires many, many hours of hard work both on stage    and at home on your own time memorizing lines and working on your character.

CCT performers generally spend 6 - 8 weeks in rehearsals preparing for a show.  Rehearsal's generally take place in the evenings 3 to 4 nights per week and occasionally weekend rehearsal's may be required. Rehearsal's generally last about 2 - 3 hours and occasionally as long as 4 hours. So you should expect at least 70-80 hours of on stage rehearsals and many more hours memorizing lines at home.

COMMITMENT
It requires full commitment both to yourself as well as to your fellow cast members and director.  They are counting on you !!  So, once you have committed to the show as the age old adage says.....THE SHOW MUST GO ON !
